Scott in Bellingham
on the rear diff what can be done ? can it be tilted for greater ground clearance on the front near the u-joint , I understand there is a problem with oil , what works how far can you tilt it ,what modifications can be done to overcome this thanks SJR
Shadyirishmen
Our lift kits leave the front of the diff at an angle about 5 degrees or less, but we have had not a single problem with oiling. Mudrat another member on the board says that they have to be perfectly flat, but as I said before we have ours near 5 degrees no problems. on the rear diff what can be done ? can it be tilted for greater ground clearance on the front near the u-joint , I understand there is a problem with oil , what works how far can you tilt it ,what modifications can be done to overcome this thanks SJR
4x4mudrat
I do not endorse running the rear diff at any angle other than horizontal. If you choose to run the diff at an angle, be sure to fill it before you tilt it.
