What's inside a hydaulic lifter??????

I took this apart to see if there was any visible signs of what a collapsed lifter is/was. The only difference I could tell for sure was the anoumt of tension on the top of the lifter itself. I put in two that were noticably more firm then the ones I pulled out. So far so good. I also changed the oil pressure sending unit while I was down there, didn't make any difference so OP must be what that reads apx 25. or less.
