July 16, 200520 yr What years did the EJ22 have a dual port? 90-95? with a switch in 96 to single? or was it mixed throughout the years? I am trying to identify what year motor an EJ22 is that I have. Any suggestions? I broke open the ECU and the chip set is from late 95, so I think its either a 95/96.
July 17, 200520 yr not shure but i think 95 is the last year for dual port. its the only motor that will bolt right in and all the connectors hook up for an early outback convershion. yep thats right 95 ej22 will bolt into with no mods
July 17, 200520 yr My 95 LS has the dual port 2.2. My 95 was manufactured very early in the production run. Think it has a build date of Oct., 1994.

Is there a way to look at the engine and tell? I have a 96 Legacy OBW. 96 was the last year of non-interference motors to I believe.
July 17, 200520 yr 95 was the year they supposedly swapped, however there seems to be a few 95's with the dual ports running around. You can look at the header pipe and tell right away if it's dual or single port.
