August 2, 200520 yr I just had my rotors turned and put new pads on and I still have a pulsing on braking. It's less than before I had the brake work done but still there. Might it be a sticking caliper? Also, when I got the car back the ABS light was on...not before, though. The shop said that the car had so much rust that a bolt (ABS sensor???) snapped off when they were doing the work but he was sure that had nothing to do with the problem. Anyone have any ideas. We've just moved to Oklahoma from Massachusetts and there aren't many Subies here.
August 2, 200520 yr check your rear brakes, my shoes are... low to almost gone, and i get a pulsing at high speed when i brake. Also, breaking the bolts are no big deal, they just drill & tap those out, and give you nice shiney new ones!

Nowadays it seems aging tires can begin to get some tread seperation which will cause some vibration on braking. If you actually feel pedal pulses though, likely is brakes. maybe check the torque on the lugnuts or remove and retorque the wheels. Carl
August 12, 200520 yr Author I've been told that the pulsing can be related to sticking calipers. The car is from New England and has some surface rust underneath but the brakes, etc have had the effects of winter salt.
August 12, 200520 yr Usually you have deposits on them that are uneven. The only way a sticking caliper can do this is by causeing deposits. If you have the ABS light on and pulseing you did not get a first quality brake job. This may have been caused by the mechanic trying to save you money and being unfamiliar with your vehicle. There are a lot of very good articles on the web that may help you learn about your brakes. Check out the stoptech website for one.
