I recently bought an Impreza sport wagon and it pings like my old Loyale used to. I know I will check the other gas staions out on regular. By the way it is not turbo. Do I go to the medium gas or the high octane? Any suggestions and thanks

the pinging is normal... mine's done it since the day i bought it, and nothing has ever come of it....

I could be wrong but i thought some MYs (mid 90's) required 89 gas.

Pinging is hard on rod bearings among other things. Pinging should be the exception rather than the rule. Run what the owner's manual says and do CC cleanings to reduce pinging as needed.
