belizeanbus
There's a lot in the forum on hood release problems that involve broken clables. How about this one... After having my 92 loyale towed awhile back, I noticed that the driver wasn't all that careful, and aside from wrapping my front license plate around my bumber, when I went to pop the hood, well, it wouldn't pop. But the cable is intact. If someone sits inside and pulls the release, you can lift the hood slightly, then open the latch and raise the hood. Why doesn't it pop up anymore...? Can I fix it? Is it related to the tow truck ride? Thanks all...
Humble Nuto 53
really shouldnt tow newer ( say 1975+ or so ) with a sling style tow... none of em are built like they used to be and it will bend the bumper and/or the crumple zone popcan that the bumper is mounted on.... the stamping that the hood release is mounted on is quite flimsy itself, and once you get the hood open you can easily "adjust" it with a large channel-lock pliers, or similar tool. i believe the release mechanism has become tilted and is mildly binding....
