Fuel Filter mounting...

Featured Replies

Would it matter if the front fuel filter was mounted upside down (EA81) ?

I found one that way, wondering if it's worth mounting right side up?

Any ideas thoughts.

I believe that one is called the vapor separator?

It has 3 hose fittings?

I don't really understand what it does or how it works, but the top line is a return to the tank according to the FSM so I'd imagine that being upside down might not let it work properly. I don't know whether that will make a difference in how it runs or not, but I don't think it would work the way it is intended.

This is the one I was questioning?

I probably could have flipped it in the time I have been messing on the board...

Runs fine but seems wrong having it upside down.

It shouldnt matter.

I know I had to turn my fuel filter upside down I may have the seperator like that as well. I could check but it will be like a week before i get to use the internet again.

I got that one on my hatch, just a thought, with the vapor gap on the top (as intended), it would let air that got through the system out of the line, like an automatic bleeder. Maybe thats its purpose?
