Which "vendor"? If this is an auto parts store, they seem to have a universal problem with telling the difference between EA81 and EA82 chassis styles, and the parts for them. Crawled up under the subee today,, thanks to an almost completely gone rod boot, I could see wich one it was. This for an 85/86 GL wagon with manual steering. Sorry for my poor use of wording, i ment the actual tie rod sence the ball joint is included is part of the rod. Humble Nuto 53 Posted August 12, 2005 Share Posted August 12, 2005 it IS called the inner tie rod. you can test it by pulling the boot loose from the rack and having assistant wobble the steering wheel while you dive under and grasp the inner joint, where it screws onto the rack. you will feel if the loosness is actually at the rod end, or if the rack has slop at the bushing. i havent had to replace an outer tie rod end on a sube yet. ive replaced three inners on the 8 subes ive owned since the late 80's Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
