Valve Cover Gasket Sealant question

Featured Replies

I just bought a valve cover gasket kit OEM and have just one little question:

Do I use any gasket sealer on either the valve cover gaskets or those little round thinggies"" for the oil passages?

I didn't, and I don't have any leaks. I just used the new thingies (grommets?) that came with the kit. The old ones were brittle and leaked badly.

The rubber seals are good enough for the first 25,000 miles  Then they'll start sweat'n oil just like all EA82

I just used regular grease to lubricate the cork gaskets, nothing on the self sealing washers.
