Stuck Trunk Lid

Featured Replies

Trunk lid is stuck shut on my daughter's '92 Legacy sedan. Neither the key nor the lever by the driver's seat will release it. Any suggestions? Is the rear seat back removable from inside the car? If it is, is there anything she could reach to release the latch from inside?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Sounds to me like the cable is jammed at the latch end. Flip down the backseat, crawl into to trunk..carefully, and see if you can move the cable end at the latch.

not all legacy seats flip down-but are not bad to remove.

The rear seat cushion is held down by 2 bolts, and then once out of the way the seat back comes out fairly easilily

If you dont have amnual go to autozone.com, click on repair infor and navigate to the diagrams that show how the seats come out.

Thank you friends, am passing the info on.

Search didn't reveal much about sedan latch mechanisms--anyone know if they're the same as wagon hatchs? Any hints/tricks appreciated.

Aloha.
