September 26, 200322 yr The door plate on my 87 gl says "6/87"...does this make it a 1987 or 1988 car? I had a 1987 Nissan Sentra once that was manufactured in 1986. It's a bit confusing, is there a cut and dried answer to these dates? Is there something in the VIN that will also tell me the model's year?
September 26, 200322 yr Subaru generaly dose the modle year change in september or is it october, anyway since yours is a june production date it's a 87.

September 26, 200322 yr I don't feel so good...... Check the 10th digit of your vin! Starting in 1980 the 10th digit was an "A" and moves up the Alphabet each year. Your 87 should have an "H" in the 10th spot unless of course it's really an 86 in which case it would be a "G".
