I found the problem of why the RX was feeling like it had a Justy engine in it....

The catalytic converter decided it had enough with the leaded race gas those months ago...and had fallen apart into chunks in the cannister....that and the back side of the cat was all kinds of melted together.

Cat-delete pipe was made and installed....and a header leak fixed. It's way more fun to drive now...especially when tuned to 9 psi....

Sweet, so whens it on the dyno next?

Edit: just read your other post, question answered.

this is all very interesting... i've sat here and read the whole thread... i got no opionions just because i have no idea whats really going on...

i've got a carbed 79 brat... the only "computer" in my car is the spare calculator in my glove box... (although its a graphing calc... TI-83 all the way!)

but hey, since i'm hopefully going to be getting into the newer subies... i thought i'd read up on some crazy tuning stuff...

bump to a old thread!

did someone ever find out about this strange boost behavior of the '88 ecu? because my XT did the same last week, boosting all the way to 0,9 bar (13psi for you ;)) but only above ~5000rpm but it wasn't noticably faster or something?

who has the answer?

your charts are proving a hunch- high compression is the winner in my world and interpretation of little engines, it always will be. A mild supercharger at most on the high comp would keep me smiling. Air has flaws- a high compression hammer makes them smaller (pun intended).:)
