99 outback lowering springs questions

Recommended Posts

I know everyones into giving their cars lifts on here, and its the wrong group of people to ask this question to, but I'm looking for an aftermarket coil spring kit for lowering my 99 outback. I'm not going offroading in it, and only drive in a city, no back country roads. So all I'm looking for is a better, sleaker look, and improved handling.

Now for the questions. If anyone has done this before I need to double check some part numbers. It is not too clear whether these will fit my year, none come up for 99, they start at 2000, are their any differences? The Eibach part number I have is 7712140, and the intrax/B&G number I got is 861019.

The second number I listed is for a 02 legacy gt, on another board it was said that these will fit as well, and give it a lower drop. Now if the legacy gt is already a few inches lower, shouldnt I be able to use the stock coils from one of them to give it a couple inch drop?Any Serious answers would be much appreciated.Thank u in advance.

I dont want to have to change the mounts, or do any kind of retro fitting, I want somthing that will go right in.Thanks

If no one here has any help for you, check the appropriate forum at www.nasioc.com .There may even be some FAQs or 'sticky' threads on the issue.

also, http://www.subarureview.com/suspension.php?PHPSESSID=d95940d8b8e7c0218bc1aff7242a1708 might be a good place to check.

2 inch is a little aggressive so doing some research about rubbing issues before you purchase is a good idea.
