Rebuilding Carbureted EA82

Recommended Posts

I have yet to see a complete kit available for the EA82.

Just call up the guys at 1stsubaruparts.com or email the people that are selling discounted OEM parts in the marketplace, and order an overhaul gasket set, main bearings, rod bearings, an oil pump, a water pump, timing belts and tensioners, and a piston ring set (am I forgetting anything?). Have your heads redone by a machine shop, and you're good to go. If I remember correctly, the parts plus the machine work cost me around a grand when I rebuilt my EA82.

Whatever you do, don't go to NAPA, Schmucks, etc. The parts will cost more and they won't be as good.
