Hey all...im missing a sensor on my new engine, and i need to know what it is

Its a 2.5L SOHC model from a 2000 forester. Its all complete exept for this one sensor...here is a description

It is a silver metal roundy block that sits kinda in front of the intake manifold, it has two medium sized vacuum tubes going to it and one electrical wire plugs into it....any ideas??? MAP sensor?? not sure

Cory

hmm...let me work on getting a pic...as im doing this all from memory

Sounds like the evap purge solenoid.

EDIT: or EGR control solenoid if so equipped. Trace the vacuum lines, do they go to the backpressure transducer (flying saucer shaped thingy), or do they go to the metal fuel lines that run below the manifold. I am going from memory of EJ22 and Phase I EJ25, so I may be off.

Thanks for the input guys....I agree with Jaime about it being the map sensor....i will get a pic and post so i can be sure :brow:

Sounds like the air assist injector valve, if it is the same as the 01/02. It is controlled by the ECM to allow air to the injectors at low speed to atomize the fuel at a better rate.

See if the .pdf below fits your missing sensor:
