November 7, 200520 yr I have read that the er27 is a 82 with 2 extra cylinders, and that it bolts onto the ea82's trannie? If the ej22 will bolt on with an adapter plate, does that mean a er33 will bolt to the same adapter plate?
November 7, 200520 yr The 3.3L has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the EJ22, but it would be a TIGHT fit in there. There was an ER27 powered GL at WCSS7, and the guy had to mount the radiator on top of the engine because it wouldn't fit in front. I don't know the length of the EG33, but it's probably at least as long as the ER27. It's worth a shot though.
November 8, 200520 yr The EG33 isnt the best choice for anything but to show people..... I dont mean to discourage you... DO IT! but you might just go for some other EJ series motor.... EJ257 maybe.

November 8, 200520 yr Author The er27 would make more sense, as there are plenty to pick from, but there's only 1 er33 from a SVX that has been sitting open to the elements. The intake has been split and the injectors are gone. I might take it apart just to look. Are there any versions of the xt6's er27s that have fancy options? Special heads? Injectors? I can choose from a half a dozen xt's for parts. But it would sure look nice with that huge er33 intake looking at me when I pop the hood. make that eg33
