svx vs. legacy

Featured Replies

does anyone know what the svx spline count for the axels is? and are the front control arms any different? im trying to come up with a way to make my legacy wider, but not having any luck, so figured i'd try this route, but i dont have access to a svx......

Well my mechanic has used Legacy axles in SVXs as the rebuilder he used retired and he can't find a reliable source. It fits right in there so my guess is it isn't any wider or its only a slight bit that the axles are swappable. If you want a little wider track what about some spacers between the wheel and hub? Should be able to go about a 1/2 inch on either side without getting longer lugs.

i had thought of spacers, but i dont want to prematurely wear out the wheel bearing....... i might just have to space them anyway as the tires i want to run arent going to fit unless i do......

spacers should be just fine. Got ours from summit racing. Still trying to get 275s on our svx.

How about using newer Impreza sedan (02+) control arms/lateral links/axles? I think all you need to do is cut off a bit of a bushing on the control arms.
