EGR light

Featured Replies

The car is a ea81 hatch with no emmissions left on on it. (it's all been stripped by previous owner) I replaced the EGR valve but there is no vacuum hose for it simply isnt there. I have had the car for 3 1/2 years and the light never came on b4 but I can't seem to figure it out or find any useful info on what the problem is.. Help the thing is gonna drive me crazy.

could it be the connectors under the dash need to be swapped around? I know some cars have a switch built into the odometer to trigger the EGR light for mainanance reasons. I believe there are a few 2-pole connector under the dash; unplug one and plug the other in....

maybe?

I just went through this with my Hornet. It's triggered every 60,000(ish) miles. You can either find the connector under the dash and switch it, or pull the dash (which I was doing for a dash conversion anyways) and disconnect the bulb.
