November 22, 200520 yr Someone hit the left front corner of my 3-door coupe in a parking lot a few weeks back. Bumper and left front marker, headlight, and marker light are trashed. I know that I can get the bumper, marker light, headlight and miscellaneous hardware off of pretty much any body style Subaru, but I'm having trouble locating a front fender. Does anyone know for sure if the front fenders are the same on a 3-door (or RX) and wagons (or sedans)?? I've taken some measurements and that seem to say they're the same, but they don't look quite the same to my eye . Lots of wagons in the JYs, but very seldom do I see a 3-door body.
November 22, 200520 yr I don't know the answer, but the JY has a cross-reference that will answer your question. Alternately, you could call a dealer and get part numbers for each.
November 22, 200520 yr As far as I know all Ea82 cars use the same front fenders (except the XT). Gary
November 22, 200520 yr Yes, they're the same. I have a sedan fender on my project 3-door, and it fit perfectly.
November 23, 200520 yr Author Wow! That's great news. I was afraid I was going to have to drive around with a mangled fender for quite a while before I found one from a 3-door. Now I might even be able to find one the right color so I don't have to paint anything. Thanks for the replies.
November 23, 200520 yr And I have 3-door fenders on my wagon, so it works both ways. ditto, i think the only difference is the plastic trim.
November 24, 200520 yr Yeah, the black rubber strip is narrower on my 3-door fenders. I just figured it was because it came from a 86 and was going on a 92 loyale.
November 24, 200520 yr the only difference is that I had to pull the back of the fender out a HAIR to match the door....otherwise, they are all the same... 85~86 dont have holes for the trim or air dam. 87+ have holes for the trim...and other fenders for air dam. 87+ trim snaps on as well as double sided tape.
