Usually runs rich when first fires up.

Blows black smoke on a rev. before it's warm.

Used to run fine after warming for a minute.

Now it...

Cranks fine.

Has spark.

Has fuel to the front filter.

Will not start with starting fluid.

Have blocked open choke valve...didn't do anything.

Dropped it off at the muffler shop for some custom exhaust raising work and now it...

Won't Start?

Cleaned the BLACK plugs and got it to attempt to fire for a second.

Any thoughts?

I'm not having a good Subaru Day!

Glenn,

82 SubaruHummer--mad about something.

84 GL--blown emission part.

01 Forester--dented!

I'd start by replacing the plugs. Then you need to tune your carb.

Did they check the cat to see If its clogged ?

that was my initial thought. Drop the exhaust at the headers and see if it will start?

They didn't mess with the cat?

They re-shaped the end of the Y pipe and a installed higher exhaust line.

I'm going to change plugs and see what happens???

I hate working on cars in the cold when it's dark.....
