I have an EA81 i would like re built. I don't know nearly enough to go this far with auto maintenetnce. I would love to learn, but as of now I'd do more harm then good.

 

It's either this or an EJ, so we'll see. I have one EA81 enginge in my garage with ( i beleive ) a toasted rod bearing, or something of that nature. The engine I'm currently running has had a salt water bath ( went in the ocean) and it's starting to die. I think I have a broken valve...it's missing, it's sputtering from the passenger side bank of valves, and there is a lack of power and you can hear gust of air, it almost sounds like there is a plug missing and air is coming straight out of the cylnder, but that's not the case. It sucks, I want a strong engine.

 

So who knows enough to do this, has the time, and would be into it?
