Changing Mileage

Featured Replies

Before cracking into my cluster I just got from ebay and breaking all the needles (i'm good at that), Is there an easy way to change the odometer reading? It's for a '97 leg. It feels like cheating to make it read the 27K from then new cluster.

yeah, just swap clusters. no need to open it up.

its also easy to rest the milage if the reason your chaning is bad odometer. Why are you chaning the clusters.

Still no takers, bummer. Guess my '97 will now have 78k less miles on it.

well experiment with one of the clusters, its easy to change the milage, just pry up the little plastic keepr that snaps in the odometer set your numbers, then push it back on

I guess, that's my last/only option. I am just wary of opening these. I broke 3 needles on my datsun's cluster by being careful.

if your version of being careful involves a hammer, you may want to re-think your procedures

These things are modular, come apart real easy and you dont have to remove the needles.

Just carfully unsnap the cover, and there are screws in the back of the panel. Real easy

It's not to bad.. Once you get the speedo out, the white holder gears pop up nicely. Still you have unprotected needles to be careful about.

Thanks all.
