December 10, 200520 yr im replacing the clutch on my 84 gl and cant get the pilot bearing out and was wondering how you guys did it. or if it is really that important to replace. thanks jacob
December 10, 200520 yr definitely replace it. that's alot of work to install an old bearing. i recall someone on hear not replacing something and it failing within a year...i think it was a throwout bearing but i can't remember exactly.
December 10, 200520 yr Here's a really easy way. Fill the hole with grease, and use a drift or a dowel that fits tight. Hammer the drift, and the grease will force the pilot bearing out.
December 10, 200520 yr Author thanksfor your help guys i got it out using the grease way that i tried before but i didnt have a tight enough fit. Some good old duct tape helped me out there. hanks again jacob
