pilot bearing?????

Featured Replies

im replacing the clutch on my 84 gl and cant get the pilot bearing out and was wondering how you guys did it. or if it is really that important to replace.

thanks jacob

definitely replace it. that's alot of work to install an old bearing. i recall someone on hear not replacing something and it failing within a year...i think it was a throwout bearing but i can't remember exactly.

Take off the flywheel and tap it out with a hammer and socket.

Here's a really easy way. Fill the hole with grease, and use a drift or a dowel that fits tight. Hammer the drift, and the grease will force the pilot bearing out.
