Rx Shifter

Featured Replies

On the 5spd models if the boot is off is the shifter really loose? some one commented on mine today and said that they thought it was loose. This person doesnt really know soobs that well thats why im asking for other peoples opinions.

I have a leather boot on GL and changing it from the rubber did make it move easier, but I wouldn't call it loose. Its by no means sloppy. Now all I can feel is the notches in the tranny with no rubber to dull them out :D

I did the same mod on my GL-10 as Flow did on his wagon...but mine is alot shorter and has NO boot at all. Its great. BUT....the RX shifter from the factory is alot better for me, its right there beside the wheel, and its throw is not too big or small. With the way I have the seat and wheel, I feel like I am in a WRC car. I dont have to reach as far as in my GL-10 to shift, the RX is jsut right there. Oh, and the boot is still on the RX.

When I swap the GL-10 to FT4WD, I am going to re-install a completely stock shifter and boot. Then I will experiment with different shifters on the RX.
