  1. Obviously my rx isnt as heavily modded like yours but i had this issue before. turned out it was the mass air flow sensor. swapped it with a junk yard one and ran fine. But who knows could be anything i guess. Mike
  2. Well thank you all for the FREAKY suby replies. i think the lifters are starting to stick prety good. ive had a tick for awhile it really only licks in humid or rainy weather and on random days. i dunno.
  3. Always, the same spot everyday my rx does this thing when i come to the stop sign it begins to idle real low and then when i give it gas with the clutch in it feels like theres some sort of resistance. When i begin to drive and i release the clutch the car barely moves even with the pedal all the way to the floor and it will make some strange clunking noises then it will all of a sudden kick in and rev right up normally. Same stop sign everyday no where else. Mike
  4. So today i got screwed. I had a minute accident but my car got hit on the right side. pretty much no damage other then the corner light needs to be replaced. but the weird thing is now it wont start. it cranks but wont turn over. i just dont get it. I checked the battery and all its connections since its pretty close to where the car got hit. any idea what might have caused this. i know its really vague but im really curious. Im not gonna be able to fix it myself anyway since the cars been impouned and with all the other list of fees and towing charges i cant afford to have it towed again.
  5. Turning 18 was the best day of mylife. No stupid driving curfews anymore. I dunno how it is there but if ur pulled over past mid night its considered driving without a license cuz its violating your "junior operators license" lame. So what did you do that was so stupid to loose it? Mike
  6. I didnt mean no time to do it my self. i meant as no time to diagnose. hell if i could find one ill put id in. but as of right now its at a garage and wont drive safely enough to get it home. Im pretty sure 87-89 turbo will work. But the thing is like i said its my daily driver and i dont have time for to wait for someone to ship me one. i need it done by the end of the week. mike
  7. Well Caleb it turns out that it is a bad mass air flow sensor. I had to take it to a mechanic since it is my daily driver and i just dont have the time to do it myself. The real decision is is to keep searching for a maf or go and pay 500 from the stealer ship. mike
  8. Ok to thicken the plot a little bit the car stinks like sulfer inside the car after it stalls.... Caleb any ideas on what connector to start with? Mike
  9. so the engine will stall when i come to stops and it takes many trys to get it to start back up. and when i get it going again i have to keep giving gas or it will just stall again. Its at normal op temp and seems to be running fine then just stalls. Very smooth stall, doesnt buck or anything just dies. does this sound like a fuel problem possibly? Mike
  10. If you can scrape together the cash go with the AWD dyno. It will be worth the money. mike
  11. Russ, so your saying that for rally purposes no sway bars are actually better?
  12. Corky, does your rx use the stock tranny with an adapter plate or something? Mike
  13. Tex, what ever happened with those custom rails you posted about from that web site? mike
  14. thats awesome! Myt rx's duals does the same thing with the popping exactly after 3k. Sounds sweet. Sorry i cant answer your question though. Mike
  15. Unless its already been done, since theres been so many questions about these swaps lately, someone who has sucessfully done this needs to do a write up on it. It would be very interesting for all. Mike
  16. that is one hell of a good find. Congrats on that. Mike
  17. My rx grinds second at high rmp and is very slopy. Kind of really annoying. It is most likely the syncros going bad. Ive heard that the ATF flush works but if u want you can also try Redline MTF. Its realllllllyy expensive crap but suposedly it will help them last a little longer. Im gonna try it as soon as the weather gets better ill post some results. mike
  18. Wow that looks amazing. I bet that thing screws even more then it already did with the new turbo. Definetly explain the fuel system. I remember reading the post about it that you wrote not to long ago and i was very interested. Mike
  19. Well im really not one to say whether it will last on a long trip or not id let some on the more experienced guys on here answer that. My guess is dont loose sleep over it because your not the only one on here that has that issue. Mine comes and goes and when it comes it pisses me off a little. But try the quart of MMO with your next oil change you can get it anywhere from autozone to walmart. Some people on here swear by it. Mike
  20. Yes you are right i forgot about that. But hope that its just the sticky lifters and not the o ring. MMO is a little cheaper and less work.
  21. Noisy lifters are very common. Some people suggest throwing a quart of MMO (marvel mystery oil) in with each oil chage. I helps unstick the lifters. I tried it and didnt have much luck but im going to try again maybe ill have better luck. i dunno Mike
  22. there are a few rust areas starting to form i plan on wire brushing and sanding those areas down then undercoating away thanks everyone Mike
  23. Has anyone use underbody coating on there subes to prevent rust and corrosion? If so what brand and how has it worked out? Mike
  24. Wow thats some damn good info thanks alot.
