What is the best coil to go with for better performance? And is it really worth it?

well that makes me feel alot better. What measures do i have to take to replace this. will i need to replace the pick up screen? do i need to remove the oil pan?

My 89 rx is ticking like a mother ****er. It comes and goes but when it comes its getting progressingly louder. This tick speeds up with the rpm. I dont know what to do about this. I dont think its a valve tick since the heads were rebuilt about a year and a half ago.

Thanks matt, i know the radiator hoses are fine, im almost positve the radiator is fine, but i will still take a look at it. Gurgiling, i hear it when i shut the car off but my i always just thougt it was the resivior filling up. If that is air in the system how do i go abouts ridding the air. Ive seen kits for filling coolant where its like a radiator cap with a funnel on it and once u fill the radiator u run the car to op. temp. to burp it. will this work?

When ever i drive my rx i always let it sit for a good 5 minutes to warm up. Obviously in that time its not completely warmed up but i try. Lately i notice that as it starts to warm up (from looking at the thermo on the dash) when im driving it gets pretty hot and today it got really close to the red zone. So i did what every text book will tell you to do. Pull over and crank the heat. So im curious to why the hell its not cooling. Im thinking it could be a ****ty stat so im gonna start by replacing that tomorrow. Any other ideas or people who have had this problem?? Mike P.S. when i pulled over my engine was making a loud ticking noise. im scared. i dont want to get a new engine.

Out of curiosity where did u find the jetta intercooler? Junk yard or bought brand new. I want to fit an intercooler on my rx but im still trying to get as much info as i possibly can about fitting and plumbing before hand. Did u experience any issues with the intercooler? also is it top mount or front mount?

Yes i have infact seen that site. He makes some good stuff, also has a nice Rx. But his intake is also $200. why spend that when i can make my own? Thanks though.

its an 89 rx, but yea i know about the fuel cut, ive researched it. But im only looking to boost it up to maybe 10-12 psi. I know turbo smart makes a fuel cut defender that goes along with there boost controller. any idea if that will work with the rx?

So its a good idea but not 100% needed, i eventually will do the hood scoop but im just curious for now. i plan to pick up one from the junkyard and try it out. I doubt ill be able to boost 17 PSI comfortably with it but it should help me out a little.

Has anyone tried an Rx7 intercooler as a cheap way for intercooling? if so what is the best place ment for the ea82t? if i did the underhood (spare tire area) placemnt is it absoloutley necassary to cut a hood scoop?

Ok this may be the stupidest question asked but how do i get the rotor(dist) off my ea82t. The new one came with a caution saying that theres a screw of some sort blah blah dont over tighten. so where the hell is this screw?

How do i improve the handling on my 89 rx? what have other people done?

My ea82t is idling low. At start up it seems to idle about normal then it drops to about 500 and is very shaky. Rev it up, same thing falls to normal idle then drops again. If u live in the mass. area then you know it was raining very hard all day. So my initial thought was maybe some water might have gotten into the dist or that general area but bone dry. I just gave it a quick outside glance(in other words i didnt look at the inside of the dist cap for any moisture). Any ideas?:cornfuzz: Sorry if this made no sense at all Mike

What is the difficult rating for installing coilovers on a 95 impreza L? Its not my car im asking for a friend so i dont know the brand of coil overs or any other details for that matter. Mike

I want to put an intake on my 89 rx. I know no one makes one so im resorting to fabricating my own. My big issue is the Mass air flow sensor. are there any adapters that will fit this or any other alternatives??? Ive seen those MAF adapters at autozone has anyone tried these? thanks Mike

My 89 rx pops when shifting gears. its usually either 2nd or third and it makes the noist as the gear goes in. and it does sound like its comming from the exhaust. I have custom duals with no mufflers. LOUD!!!:moon:
