Does anyone know if any struts from any other manufacturers will easily retrofit to our cars? Looking for something that is shorter overall and that can be found in a performance variant.

possibly something in the vw world would work.. these struts look very similar to my vw struts. but they might not be shorter...so that wouldn't work

Still havn't found out what the ones in my wagon are - all i know is that they are non adjustable and yellow.

Is there anywhere in particular that manufacturers normaly stamp model #s etc??

I know you can still get KYB GR2s for EA81 4wd but you would need to check their catalog to see if there are 2wd (which are shorter) struts available.

Well, I know you can still get EA81 2WD GR2s, but I was thinking more along the lines of Koni Yellows or Bilstiens... Anyone using strut cartrages? Custom valves stock shocks?

Yeah u can still get KYB GR2's for 2WD subys. I got a pair in the rear of mine..next summer ill do the fronts. There good shocks for the money and about the only option without modes.
