December 18, 200520 yr As I understand it, in order to run this clutch in an EA81 4WD I need to find a throw-out bearning that fits the EA81 tranny. Everything else will fit using an EA82 flywheel that is machined to run the XT6 flywheel. Am I on the right track?
December 18, 200520 yr Good question. I've been searching today to see what is required to put an XT-6 clutch in my EA-82. Similar question, I think. Do I just need the PP and Disk? Or do I need an XT-6 flywheel, too?
December 18, 200520 yr The 4spd and the 5spd have different splines, so the XT-6 won't fit on the 4 speed.
December 19, 200520 yr Thanks, Noah. I'd like to put an XT-6 clutch in now in anticipation of the future EJ swap. What all do I need? ('94 Loyale. Prolly grab a D/R while the engine is out right now).
December 19, 200520 yr Author I think you can run an XT6 flywheel on any EA82. (Don't know for sure) Otherwise, you need to have a regular EA82 flywheel machined to fit an XT6 clutch kit.
December 19, 200520 yr The XT-6 Pressure plate will bolt on to the EA-82 flywheel (99%) sure. When mateing the EJ to the EA-82, you use the redrilled EA flywheel, and the XT-6 flywheel and pressure plate. Interesting to note, but the legacy has the same spline as the EA-82 transmissions. so you may be able to run a high po legacy kevlar clutch.
