Hi,

I own Subaru Outback 2001. Today when I started the engine it made a loud noice and since then it is making really loud noise after staring the engine. I'm not sure if it something related to exhaust pipe. Can some one tell me what could be the problem please?

It is a coming from engine and like loud motor noice. Now the check engine light is also flashing.

Take it to the dealer. that sounds like a mechanical failure that will only get worse if not attended to quickly

There are a lot of things that can cause a loud noise.

 

How long does it last after turning on the engine?

At what RPM does it cut out?

Is it constant or rythmic?

Does it get louder or faster with acceleration?

Can you open the hood and identify where it is coming from(please, don't poke at anything while its running unless you are very sure of what you are doing)?
