Speed Sensor

Featured Replies

High my check engine light came on today and the code was P1502 which is suppose to be a speed sensor... I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon.. MY Hanes Manual doesn't list the code or where the sensor is located.. Can someone tell where to find it.. Also tell which other service manual will show where it is and how it is replaced.. Thank you...

Interesting my FSM says Radiator fan function problem for P1502. . .

you REALLY need to confirm which problem it is.. VSS is annoying... cooling fan function can equate to a over heated car, and a headgasket failure may not be that far behind.

Ok I went to the dealer and yes they said it indicates a fan problem.. Now they told me to check a few things first.. So I checked the fuse under the dash and it checks out ok.. Second I turned on the AC and the fans came on instantly, but only for a few seconds.. They would come on and off I will sayat 5sec intervals and then cut off again.. The Hanes manul suggest to check the fuse under the hood and breakers, plus the tempature sending sensor.. What is the cheapest and best meter to use to do these checks.. Thanks
