Adding Struts

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about adding a set of rancho's or something of the like onto my Brat's front suspension. I know that SubaruBrat has done it, but I have not seen any pic.s or discussion of how it has been done. Has anyone else done it?

Anyways, the top part should be pretty easy, but how does the bottom mount up?

I have heard of people cutting the bottom pocket where the strut sits inside and then welding up a mounting bracket for the new shock.

Mudrat did a real clever add-a-shock setup on Turbone's big camo hatch. It mounted to the front of the lower control arm on the bottom and to the crossmember lift blocks on top.

There's a pic of that up somewhere, see if you can dig it up.
