Wire wheels - anyone actually ever see them?

Featured Replies

Subaru wire wheels from the 70's....not your grandad's E series Jaguar.

Of all the early mag wheels I'd say these must be the most rare.Any opinions on that?

With all the big money around here you'd think all Subarus had them in lower Fairfield County. But I really can't recall any of our Subarus ever having them.Or seeing them on the road.

I'd pay a good $150+ for a set if they were restorable, and had the center caps.

i've never seen a set... got any pics?

Any word on the manufacturer?

Those centercaps are so period! Cars like the Capri, countless English cars, some other Euro's,etc. all came with some similar centercaps back from the mid 60's through the early 70's Mostly of the sport models but the trend even went out to family sedans, etc.

I Just Saw an Old Subie Passing by with what Seemed to be That Kind of Rims, So I Searched here for More info and Found This Thread...

Does Anybody have Pics & more info about Those Rims?

Kind Regards.

Holy Found! :)

I've Saved Pics from the Link posted by Tailgatewagon:

I Saw those in a Cherry Red GSR with Loud Exhaust, But...

...I Think they were Different, Maybe 'cos the Subie was Runnin' or Maybe due to the Centercaps.

Kind Regards.

Man , this is the Historic Forum , right? We're talking about rare parts and our friend in Honduras searched and found an answer thanks to archivals.

Danny W , a.k.a. "drivesubies" is the seller.
