January 10, 200620 yr I have a 2003 Outback. I keep blowing the 15A dash/gauge fuse. I've had no work done to any electrical parts and I see no pattern to the fuse blowing. The fuse ususally last about 24 hours. Any help? Thanks.

January 10, 200620 yr i believe it relates to what opie says,my phone charger bent the ears down in the cig lighter socket,one day i was swatting a fly and hit the dash and saw i tiny spark down in the hole,you might check this and get lucky.

Yes, I do, but I've since stopped using the cell phone charger and the fuse still blows. If I have bent the ears in the 12v outlet, should I just try and straighten them by bending them back? Thanks.
January 10, 200620 yr the reason i could see the spark was i quit using mine too,i thought the problem was there but had no way of knowing for sure. you could bend them back or just unhook the lead wire off the back and give it a week and see what happens.

We see that problem fairly often, it seems some cell phone chargers deform the outlets and cause a short. I'd unplug the 12v outlet harness and see if the fuse blows or not, if it doesn't you know the outlet is problem.
