February 5, 200620 yr will 18" wheels with a 50mm offset and 215/40/18 tires fit on a 93' legacy sport sedan? with the stock wheels theres lots of clearance, but i'm not sure about the 18's..
February 5, 200620 yr I wouldn't be surprised if they rubbed/didn't fit. There isn't a lot of room under the spring perch. The biggest tires I've heard of on a BC/BF are 225/40-17, with rolled fenders. Some other people have tried that size and rubbed, and a 215/40-18 is taller. I have stock WRX 205/55-16s with a 55 offset on my 93 Legacy. They're narrower and slightly shorter than a 215/40-18, and they rubbed slightly on the rear fenders before I put in camber bolts. If I rolled the fenders and had a little less +offset, I could probably fit a 225 easily, but my struts have more clearance that the stockers. On stock struts I only had about 10mm between the perch and the tire. Do you already have the 18s? can I suggest you go with 17s? A 17x7 with a 215/40 most likely won't rub, and you can get WRX and LGT take-offs on the cheap. Also it will probably be lighter. 18" just seems a little too big for those cars. How wide are the wheels?
February 5, 200620 yr Author well, i was just looking at tirerack and found'em on special, $59 a piece, lol.. i need some tires and wheels so i was asking before i bought them.. would hate to buy'em then they not fit.. right now my legacy ss has the stock 15" wheels with 195/55/15's on it and it looks like a mexican lowrider.. i mean like a good 5 inches between the top of the tire and the fender....

Stock wheels should have stock size tires on them, which would be 195/60/15 in your case. As a general rule, as you increase your rim diameter, decrease the aspect ratio by 5%, given the width is the same, ie, 195/55/16, 195/50/17, 195/45/18...
February 5, 200620 yr I've heard '18s are for show - 17s are for go' so, yeah what they said. You can likley find some WRX takeoffs (check the proper marketplace at http://www.nasioc.com - that where I sold mine) with decent tires attached.
