I have an 87 GL-10 partsmobile

It has the trip pooter with external temp as one of it's displays.

I would like to mount this in my Legacy

 

I am searching for the thermistor that senses the ambient temperature.

 

I believe it to be in the area of the pass side headlamp

 

Has anyone ever seen or removed one as I do not know

what it looks like or it's exact location.

I don't know, but I do remember someone using it to monitor the manifold air temp....

Subaru FSM for '86 shows it near the passenger headlamp. Looks like a lipstick/chapstick thingy, 2 wires.

if i remember correctly it is behind the bumper on the pass side. right next to the horn and left turn sig. dark blue/black 3/8" diamater about 1 1/2" long.
