Is it possible to change my 89 single range DL to a dual range? It would have to be an EA82 dual range right? I have a 5 speed now?

yes very easy to do.

drop in, bolt in.

it's entirely possible, you just need a d/r tranny (5 speed, not a 4 speed - that would be for an ea81.)

 

there are plenty of threads on this topic, do a search and you will find all kinds of helpful info.

Every swap should be this easy. You don't need to cut or grind anything; it all bolts up. Make sure you get the shifter surround (the plastic part that goes between the console and the dash) since it has the cutout for the d/r lever.
