March 13, 200620 yr ok yeah another question from me. i think my car possesed. ok 97 outback 182000 miles. 2.5l just redid cylinder heads and other parts. i was putting a little bit of oil in my car today. the car was on and idling fine. as i was adding oil i noticed a pretty loud gurgling/spitting coming from the filler tube. i have never heard such a thing before. i just did an oil change 500 miles ago too and it was very low on oil today. it never burned oil before that as far as i know. i also heard the gurgling in the dipstick HELP! HELP! HELP! jake

March 14, 200620 yr Don't add oil with the engine running. You are shutting it off to check aren't you? It sounds like it is burning oil which is about right with the blowby.
March 15, 200620 yr i agree. Also you can get a face full of oil from some cars due to crankase pressures, air movement etc. ALso its impossible to tell when the crankase is full with the engine running nipper
