I am an audiophile, so in my next car, for a deck, I plan on a high end apline or pioneer. I'm not into volume as much has fidelity and quality. I'd be happy with a low powered sub, and four higher quality speakers. no record breaking system here.

OK, I'll admit it, you can't fry speakers with underrated amps, clipping isn't any sort of DC, and a coil won't try to hold itself in a magnetic field at an almost constant voltage level.

 

I did do all that audio stuff in the late 70's, which is kind of clouded (cough, cough) anyway, so I'm probably mistaken.
