1.8 in my 93 Impreza???

Featured Replies

I posted this on the New Gen side but not much help over there. If this Impreza is a 1.8, will the engine and components swap over to an EA82 style of vehicle? I hope it is a manual! (I have not seen the car...picking it up from an owner who thinks it starts with a "P":drunk: ) All for 100 beans!

Josh!

it is my belief that there is in fact EJ18 engines. 1.8 EJ seires engines.

Shouldn't be too much smaller than EJ20 or EJ22 engines... and probably not much if at all different in size frmo EA82 engines.

Might be worth some work to try it out. I'm sure there's alot more that you could do with an EJ18 to supe it up than an EA82.

well, if the car is hashed i think it would be nice to throw the whole motor and trans combo into an ea82, and get that xt6 for the 5 lug conversion.

if the 'Preza goes for parts to fix the legacy, maybe we can invent a 5lug conversion out of that! (can you say strut cap mods?)

yeah, to install any EJ engine you would need a tranny adapter plate for the engine to use on your EA82 tranny, or just go all out and swap in the legacy transmission, axles, and driveline. everything!
