engine swap questions

Featured Replies

ok i'm getting ready to buy a junk er27 to swap into my xt-6 as my current engine let the number 5 rod com out the top

the questions are

the one in the junk yard is auto will my flywheel bolt up correctly

also i was told that i would throw my engine out of balance if i bolted my flywheel to this engine is there any truth to this

finally any reccomended cheap maintance before the engine goes into the car?

thanks

-jeff

see my post on xt6.net

might as well do as many gaskets and seals as you can get to with the engine out.. like cam seals, oil pump gasket, as well as timing belts and bunches of other stuff

Hey Jeff did you find an engine? How many miles does this one have?I would definately say do the timing belts and also cam seal as said before. And if you can do your water pump first before install since that is a pain as you showed me.
