nathan_d
my 82' wagon makes a weird thumping noise as i decelerate from high speeds and vibrates, this comes from the fron passenger side as well as when i let off the gas the car pulls to the passenger side does this sound like the cv joint? anyway to check? how to replace and how tough? thanks
GeneralDisorder
R&R your ball joints. Steering with the brake or gas pedals is a sure sign of some really bad ball joints. Check everything else while you are down there. CV boots, etc. GD

Tony_n_Ca
Nathan_d - an 1982 - more then likely has high milage... Sounds like time to check the entire front suspension.... Lower Ball-joints - tie rods - both inner and outter and cv joints. Also test the CV joints and not just inspect the boots but how the CV sounds on a tight circle when road testing in some parking lot... Good Luck and keep us posted, Tony www.KitCarVenture.com
