I'm almost of mind to do a dual head swap and get the heads I'm going to use, resurfaced just for the hell of it. (of course, really blue paint job would work as well!)

 

how much can you ask a shop to resurface without requiring modification of the intake system? (say, will .005" of of both be too much?)

 

Who has had heads resurfaced? It's not too expensive, and I want my car to run top, so I might just pull the engine and go for it. (with of course, andrew's help)

I had a shop resurface 2 ea-82 heads. Don't remember how much he took off, but the intake bolted on without trouble. I think he said 0.010".

had mine done too with no problems bolting up the manifold.

if they have to remove enough to make the manifold not fit it would have been too much.

 

.005 should be no problem or more will still work.
