heavier tie rods

Featured Replies

i am looking to posiblily put heavier tie rods on my 88GL wagon. from what vehical whould i get them from? and what mod do i need to do if any? i would preferre not to do any if posible. Lost in the RAINFOREST

Have you been breaking tie rods? i've wheeled pretty hard and never had one go bad, the radius rod sure, thats junk, but the tie rods seem to hold their own.

if you want heavier, get yourself some metal of appropriate size, shape, weight, zip ties, hose clamps, and a couple rolls of chinese electrical tape, and have at it, works good, and lasts

i guesse what i alooking for would be the radius rod. the end peice is fine but the metal rod is bent. so can i go heavier on that?

RX's and XT6's have bigger tirods and they are a direct swap to any EA82 type car or a stronger way is to cut the rod and sleave over a tight fitting pipe and weld the ends , if properly welded it should be stronger then the stock ones .
