djkindt
It seems like this is a common thing to "go out" on justys, so I want to replace mine before it's too late since I don't have a lot of history on my motor. However, I can't seem to find one anywhere! Is this something I have to buy from the dealer? Any leads? how much does it cost? Hard to install? Thanks! RenaissanceMan
I have been addressing this oil pump issue for a long time on these motors... My newest idea is to make an external oil pump from a flat four subaru engine. (some severe fabricating/machine work) to get your OEM justy oil pump, the only place I know of that has the parts is http://www.1stsubaruparts.com -Mike
djkindt
That would be nice to have a better setup, but I don't have a lot of access to machining or any fabrication experience. I can't seem to find the oil pump, even on that site. It's a bit difficult to navigate. I'll keep looking though, thanks, Dylan I have been addressing this oil pump issue for a long time on these motors... My newest idea is to make an external oil pump from a flat four subaru engine. Esteban32696
Subiegal,,, jaime@chaplins.com = should be able to get one for you.Is your oil light flickering, at idle?? If not, I don't worry about it.
djkindt
Any idea on the cost of these things? that website is saying they want over $400 just for the oil pump cover... The oil light doesn't flicker normally at idle, but I have seen it flicker once or twice before. May have been a fluke, I don't know. Thanks! RenaissanceMan
Thats 400 for the timing cover.. the oil pump cover is only like 12..... if you buy the oil pump cover, oil pump shaft, oil pump rotor, and gasket.. its like less than $50 to your door. If the timing cover is to the point of needing replacement, your lower end is already gone. So if your bottom end is still good, just go with the timing cover you got. (you can if you want take it into a machine shop and it is possible to machine a 6613 bronze bushing to work, just tell them to get it so its as close fit as a wrist pin. The shop I took it to last that did a bangup job charged me $50 cash -Mike
