May 22, 200619 yr That is either the EGR or Purge control solenoid. Can't remember which is which. I have neither on my wagon anymore. Someone recently found a solenoid from a honda that is sturdier and within spec.
May 22, 200619 yr Author cool, would this explain why the car is so slow? its like the turbo isnt even spooling.what does the selonoid do exactly? can it be bypassed at all? and one more question is there a vacume routing diagram floting around on the boards anywhare for the ea82t. thanks agian for the help
May 22, 200619 yr That solenoid controls when your charcoal canister is purged of fuel vapors. Other than a possible smallish vacuum leak (depending on what side of the valve snapped off), it should not have any effect on your performance. Make sure that your ignition is in good shape, particularly spark plugs and wires, and that the timing is set properly (this requires connecting a set of green connectors near the fuse box while checking setting the timing).
