IdahoJak
My '85 Hatch has had the engine replaced. I'm trying to verify what year/model the replacement engine is from. The number on the engine is EA81, 240670. A big thanks to anyone who knows. Jack

IdahoJak
Thanks Subieman, looks like I have an early '83 engine. Don't know if that makes a difference on any parts I order for it, but now at least I know. Jack

mcbrat
yeah I have to buy parts for my car using 83 gl and I have an 87 stanadard its weird. I got the wrong clutch and exahust gaskets, and flange gaskets were all wrong using my car specs????? wierd that's because most chain parts stores only have EA82 info for 85+ so any time I'm getting parts for a 85+ hatch or Brat, I use 82-84 for the year... depending on my mood
