June 22, 200619 yr would anyone know how fast you are driving when the RPM is at both 3200 and 3600 RPM..I have an 86 loyale manual tranny 4wd. standard tires/wheels
June 22, 200619 yr What gear are you asking for? And also, what's the gear ratio of your gearbox? (look at the tag on the rear diff) Results won't help you much unless you answer those.
June 22, 200619 yr well if yours is like mine was...3200 should be 60mph and 3600 should be 64 or 65 in 5th gear...this is with 3.70 gear ratio
June 22, 200619 yr What you need is a friend with a working speedometer and 2 cell phones (or a set of preselected hand signals!). Have him follow you and when you get to the RPM you want, ask him how fast you are going.
June 22, 200619 yr With my 1982, I was turning 3000 at 55mph:burnout: but I think the 82's were geared lower than most.
June 22, 200619 yr well if yours is like mine was...3200 should be 60mph and 3600 should be 64 or 65 in 5th gear...this is with 3.70 gear ratio But funny how with the 3.90s you get a better freeway gear, and by better I mean lower RPMs. That is only taking in to consideration the gear ratios only, not figuring for wheel size.
June 25, 200619 yr Author the gear ratio on the diff reads 3.90 and my original question refers to the 5th gear...Thanks What gear are you asking for? And also, what's the gear ratio of your gearbox? (look at the tag on the rear diff) Results won't help you much unless you answer those.
