How rare is the heated mirrors on 93/94 Legacies?

Featured Replies

Curious as my wife's 94 (which has every option known to man on it, except leather thank god, but still even has the heated seats) has a cracked driver's mirror. I've had myself and several other people, including a few other board members scouring around trying to find a replacement for it...this has been months and none of us have even seen another legacy with heated mirrors. So seriously how rare is this option? Was this legacy a special order or what?

It's a really rare option. As far as I knew, the only option for mirrors was a JDM power folding mod.

The heated outside mirrors were part of the "Cold Weather Package" which is only listed on the Alpine Sport submodel. If you do not have the alpine sport, then yes, this was a special order Legacy. Is the mirror glass broken, or the housing?

This is not an alpine sport that I know of (wouldn't that be written on the side? Sorry old Gen Soob guy here). Think it's just a Legacy L (badge is missing), well fell off a few weeks after we bought it which was years ago.

Only the glass is broken, power mirror works fine...but the heat strips are in the glass part. Guess I'm dealer bound for this, bet that's gonna hurt.

Does have the cold weather package, block heater etc...and everything else imagineable except leather and a sunroof/moonroof. Figured it just had to be special ordered by someone since it is so decked out minus the few things.

This is the car in question here (the only Legacy in the picture, other two are my toys):

Only the Alpine Sport came with that option. Perhaps your car got repainted or something (It has the stock roof racks..)

Check out the online parts stores as well. I use 1stsubaruparts.com , but do not order from the page. call Jason at 866-528-5282 instead. Tell him you need the internet pricing, and that you are a USMB member as well.

Thanks will check that out and compare to local dealer who gives okay prices, just about to call him.

This car is original, never been repainted (could use a good buffing but I'm lazy), no wrecks, and just turned 120k, still a baby. Well that makes a 3rd somewhat rare Roo I have sitting in my driveway. Will have to call off the search around the yards since I'm guessing the Alpine Sport version is also rare? I live in Colorado where there is Roo's everywhere and don't recall seeing too many of them.

Yeah, i'd say the Alpine sport is fairly rare. . . On this, you will have to go new. get just the glass, though. Well, that is if the heater is inside the glass, as I hope it is.

Yes the heater strips are in the glass(actually what is holding the mirror in one piece & still works), I've had it off...had a replacement but forgot about the heated mirrors until I took it apart. So had to put the broken one back on, since the one I had was just the regular mirror. Been like this since we bought it, but drives me nuts even though I only drive the car once in a blue moon. Wife doesn't really care, she knows the right piece of it to look at to see her blind spot, but she will once there is a good mirror on there.

Good, you should be able to get the glass easily enough, then. . .
