Yes - we all know this. There's also quite a few engines missing.... EJ18, EJ20, EA63, EA71, EA81T, etc, etc

The point was just general info...

 

I am new to Subaru and I thought adding some general stuff to the database may help someone in their search for info, like me.

 

All the different models, engine types, modifications, etc., etc. is still a bit confusing to me right now. I am a memeber to few different types of forums and one thing I realize is that having some general info to start with really helps in ones quest regardless of what that quest may be.

 

Do you have more specs like the list I started that I could add to my original post to make a fairly complete and accurate list?

Now that is weird! never knew 81's came in 1600cc! :-\

 

Has anyone got more info on which cars these came out of? I thought if it was 1600cc it was a 71...

It's what we refer to as the "EA81 body", but you could get EA71's right up till 89 in the STD hatch. Many low end DL's and such had the EA71 in the early 80's, but mainly it was the STD hatch model.

 

In other countries, the "EA82 body" style vehicles came with such exotic combinations as SPFI EA71's, and dual carb EA81's. Saw a picture posted not long ago of an EA71 in an '89? three door coupe. Good on gas apparently.

 

EJ series engines came in the 1.5L EJ15 in other parts of the world - in some countries they even had distributors driven off the cam.

 

EJ series transmissions came with Dual Range levers in some models - not in the US..... you get the picture.

 

Strange stuff out there - more than most know about.

Yeah, I have one in my Liberty.

 

So on that page it id just refering to the style of the car as EA81, not the actual engine number... I think they need to revise that page, as it leads to miss information. Anyway, that's for the info. Never got the STD's here in Aus.
